Denim Stars Baby Blanket

I just finished a flannel and minky baby blanket from my Denim Stars quilt pattern.  It's done in a quilt-as-you-go method, and batting is optional.  I didn't use batting in this one.  It will be nice for a summer baby blanket.

Here's the front.

And here's the back.

This is gorgeous! I love this design so much! Now, I'm trying to decide if I really want to cut out all those hexagons :D

Cutting those octagons is easier with the Denim Stars Acrylic Template. You can get it from my Etsy shop. Here's a link... https://www.etsy.com/listing/125870055/laser-cut-acrylic-template-for-denim

Intended on using the hex template for a denim quilt but the minky quilt is lovely! How much flannel fabric is needed for the backing? Have you ever substituted fleece for the minky?

I used two different flannels for the back of my Denim Stars baby blanket -- 1 1/4 yd of each for a total of 2 1/2 yds. It's 8 stars wide and 10 stars long, for a total of 80 blocks. If you got 3/8 yd of 2 different minky fabrics, you'd have enough for the 80 squares.
