How Did You Quilt That?

I got a longarm 2 years ago, and have been learning how to use it.  If only I didn't have to sleep, so I could spend more time with it.

I just listed this beautiful quilt on my Etsy shop.

Here's the quilting on "Radiant," from "Angles With Ease 2."

I filled all of the white areas with feathers.

The connecting triangles are done with a straight line ruler.  And the non-connecting triangles are free-motion swirls.

I used my wave and straight edge rulers on the border, and straight edge ruler for the diamonds.

I thought it might be helpful to show how I quilted some of my quilts.  Please understand that I'm not a pro at machine quilting.  But I do all of my quilting myself, on my little Bernina, because I can't afford to take it to a pro.  I hope to get better at it with practice.

I just finished a sample for the store!  It's a table runner from the book, "The Trendy Table" by Anka's Treasures.  The pattern is "Sorbet," and I quilted it on my Bernina 230.

You can click on each picture to get a bigger view.

I feel like this pattern is more of a "modern" quilt pattern, so I thought some straight lines would be appropriate.

After my layers are basted together (I used safety pins), I usually stabilize the quilt by stitching in-the-ditch on each side of the inner border.  I use my walking foot for all of this part.  Then I stitched in-the-ditch around each flower and stem.  At that point, I felt like I could remove all of the pins.

The flower motifs are each done in one continuous line.  First the big arcs in each petal, then the small arcs, then continue the arcs into the flower center.

Using the side of my walking foot as a guide, I echoed out and around each flower block.  The channels are not symmetrical or exactly the same on each flower, and I felt like that was OK.

Then I put on my free-motion foot and stitched pebbles (or bubbles) in some of the channels.  Again, not symmetrical or exactly the same on each flower.

The Man Quilt
I got to use the Handi Quilter Avante' at the store to quilt this quilt.  I used black to quilt the black squares in a square curly-q.  Then I used taupe to echo quilt 2 to 4 rectangles together.  My son wanted a puffy batting, so my quilting isn't very close.  If I was to use a cotton/poly batting, I'd do the same design, but put the lines 1/2" to 3/4" apart.  I was surprised that I could quilt straight lines free-hand, and it actually looked pretty good.

I love your fabric choices for The Man Quilt. Can you tell me the brand and name of the fabric line, please? I live in Austin, TX, and would love to find those fabrics. I will be out in Utah this summer, so if they are sold at your quilting store (depending on where it is), that might work as well if I can't find them here. I found your pattern on Craftsy. Thanks :)
